This week’s Top 10 Tuesday theme is TV shows and films that are bingeworthy and are worth a watch when you’re not reading!
Saying that, my biggest binge is:
I love watching what other people are reading and seeing them talk about bookish nerdy stuff. My favourite channels at the moment are: MercysBookishMusings, booksandquills, Elena Reads Books and Jen Campbell, although there are loads of other great ones too!
Death in Paradise
One of my favourite binges, particularly in winter months, is Death in Paradise. It’s a funny crime show set on a fictional island in the Caribbean, and if you’ve ever watched it you know the murders are always far-fetched but I love getting to January and it being on TV every week to cheer me up when it’s dark and cold outside.
My favourite films to binge are Disney films. There is nothing better than being curled up on your bed with a Disney film and a huge bar of chocolate!
There are only 12 episodes, and it’s one of my favourite sitcoms. Perfect for a binge, although if you’ve never seen it (how?) be warned it was made in the 70’s so politically correct it is not!
I googled shows to bingewatch and this was literally the first answer it’s so perfect. Again, not the most PC programme in 2018, but as a 20-something I love it.
If you were a British teen in the 00’s was it even possible to avoid this show? It’s so cringey, and even years after high school I still love this show.
Only Fools and Horses
This is another old sitcom I just absolutely love. There are some classic moments like the broken chandelier, the pre-blessed wine and the time they actually made a million quid!
I love to bingewatch clips of the Simpsons on youtube, and I loved watching Los Simpsons when I lived in Spain and trying to figure out what they were saying in episodes I’d seen in English.
Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps
The final sitcom on my list is about a group of working class friends in the North West whose lives revolve around very little apart from the pub and their relationships. It was one of Sheridan Smith’s first well-known roles and I love her as Janet.
True Crime documentaries
I also really love watching True Crime documentaries. It might be a bit weird, but if I had enough money I’d definitely do a second degree in Criminology, it’s so fascinating.
