Top 5 Tuesday: Top 5 characters I want as a best friend

This week’s Top 5 Tuesday, as you can see from the title is characters you’d like as a best friend. I had a difficult job not to just pick 5 characters from Harry Potter but there’s only one on this list!

Bridget Jones (Bridget Jones’ Diary)

What 20- or 30- something wouldn’t want Bridget as a best friend? She swears, drinks an unholy amount and her life is such a mess it makes you feel better about your own millennial failings! I’d love to see a similar series for the millennial generation, but for the time being Bridget is my girl.

Emma Morley (One Day)

I think Emma is such a faithful friend. She is very confident in herself and just happy to let herself grow into the person she becomes. She’s also very loyal to Dexter even when he doesn’t deserve it. I love Emma Morley.

Katniss Everdeen (Hunger Games)

Who doesn’t want a friend who could protect them in a dystopian universe? Personally I find her a bit annoying but I love her feisty attitude. I think we’d have a love/hate relationship.

Luna Lovegood (Harry Potter)

Luna is so confident and happy being herself, and I think she’s the perfect friend for when you need to have that confidence in yourself. I don’t think you’d ever get bored around Luna, I’d love to read the Quibbler with my spectrespecs on!

Marley (Marley and Me)

Marley is one of my favourite dogs in fiction, and everyone knows a dog is a (wo)man’s best friend. I’d love to take Marley on a chaotic walk and get kicked out of training school but still know he’s there for a cuddle!
