Secret Life of a Book Blogger Tag

I recently came across this tag from Munch Reviews and as I’m trying to get back into blogging after a bit of a slump in November I thought I’d give this a go today.

1. How long have you been blogging?

I set up my blog in September 2017 but didn’t really start regularly posting until January this year as my resolution. I’ve had other blogs before but nothing that actually lasted so I’m quite pleased I’ve been mostly regularly posting for nearly a year.

2. At what point do you think you’ll stop blogging?

I don’t have any intentions to stop blogging at the moment, although I’m happy to take breaks when needed. I think maybe I’ll eventually get too busy to do much but at the moment I’m still loving writing about books.

3. What is the best thing about blogging?

I think it’s the chance to talk about books I love and want to read, and finding new books to add to my TBR. I also like the community of people who love books as much as I do.

4. What is the worst thing? What do you do to make it okay?

Finding time to write and read can be difficult, never mind time to blog hop, comment on friends’ posts… I just accept that I don’t always have time, but as long as I’m enjoying it, it’s not necessarily a bad thing.

5. How long does it take you to make/find pictures to use?

Not too long as I usually just use book covers from Goodreads. It takes me a long time to create the look of my blog because it can be difficult for me to think of ideas. I’m much better at words than images.

6. Who is your book crush?

When I was a teenager I loved Remus Lupin, but I’m not sure I’ve had a book crush for about 10 years!

7. What author would you like to have on your blog?

I think it would be a privilege to have any author on my blog, but I’d like to interview Diane Chamberlain.

8. What do you wear when you write blog posts?

Is there anybody that wears specific clothes for blogging?

9. How long does it take you to prepare?

Of course it depends on the post. I don’t do a lot of posts where I need to research things (primarily because I don’t have the time!), but reviews can take me a while as well as my Tag Tuesdays as I need to look through my Goodreads to remind me of what I’ve enjoyed in the past.

10. How do you feel about the blogging community?

There are some really great people on here who like and comment frequently on my posts and keep me going during my blogging slumps. I just wish I had more time to repay the favour.

11. What do you think one should do to create a successful blog?

I think it depends on your definition of success. Sure it’s great to have a lot of followers but I think being happy with what you post and having some meaningful communication with others is best.
