Another week, another Top 5 Tuesday! We are continuing our A – Z theme this week and there’s one of my favourite books of 2019 on here so let me know if you’ve read and of these books and what you thought.
Keeper of the Light – Diane Chamberlain
I’ve talked many times on my blog about how much I love Diane Chamberlain and I think the characters in this book are so believable and empathetic that this is one of my favourites of her novels.
Lord of the Flies – William Golding
I remember reading this book at school and it feeling so frightening, especially what happens to Piggy. I’m not normally a fan of “classics” but the language of this novel is so accessible.
My Sister the Serial Killer – Oyinkan Braithwaite
If you’ve somehow missed this thriller this year, it has great characters and focuses on creating an intense atmosphere rather than a trashy whodunnit.
(A) Night to Remember – Walter Lord
If you’re interested in the Titanic disaster at all this is the must-read book. It reads like a fictional account, but is closely based on survivors’ accounts, and the audiobook was well narrated too.
One Moment, One Morning – Sarah Rayner
If you enjoy chick-lit novels I’d definitely recommend Sarah Rayner. She’s a great general fiction author with strong characters.
